As someone I know points out, one of the best parts of this video is where the guy sweeps up the glass afterwards. Very thoughtful.

A friend Tweeted this video the other day, and I feel the need to share. This is an excellent video about teaching a child to ride a bicycle on his/her own. The techniques shown would work equally well as part of an adult education class oriented to adults who never learned to ride as children for whatever reason — the need for this has increased in many cities with growing populations of immigrant women.

The League of American Bicyclists preaches the ABC QuickCheck via Traffic Skills 101 and other bicycle ed programs. It’s a great check-through that applies to nearly every kind of bicycle on the market.

Bicycling magazine has a series of maintenance videos, and created a video of a pre-ride safety check I found interesting. It’s a little more thorough, and it’s being executed against a fairly high-end bike. Some of the issues to check for end up being different on high-end bikes, thanks to issues like the fancy wheels, frame materials, etc.

An excellent video by a LCI colleague on how a cycling group can more safely change lanes by letting the rear riders take the lead on the change and protect the lane from motorist conflict.
